What is FCRA Registration?
The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) registration allows NGOs in India to legally receive foreign funds and donations. It is issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, and is mandatory for NGOs that want to accept contributions from abroad.

Types of FCRA Registration:

  1. FCRA Prior Permission (PP):

    • Requires proven track record of social work and financial management

Eligibility Criteria:

  • NGO must be registered under Societies Act / Trust Act / Section 8 Company

  • Minimum 3 years track record (for regular registration)

  • Proper utilization of funds with audited accounts

  • Activities should align with the NGO’s objectives

Documents Required:

  • NGO registration certificate & MoA/Trust Deed

  • PAN card of NGO

  • Details of governing body members (Aadhaar, PAN, ID proof)

  • Past 3 years audited financial statements (for regular FCRA)

  • Activity reports

  • Commitment letter from foreign donor (for prior permission)
